Talk at the BDPA autumn seminar 2025

In the pre-programme of this year’s autumn seminar of the Bundesverband Deutscher Patentanwälte (BDPA), patent attorney Sebastian Goebel presents “Generative KI für Patentanwältinnen und Patentanwälte: das Sprachmodell als Schreibassistent” (Generative AI for patent attorneys: the language model as a writing assistant).

The BDPA youth seminar, which takes place on Thursday, 25 September 2025 from 10:00 to 11:30, has a practical focus. Participants should bring their laptops in order to try out the use of local language models directly.

Language models are increasingly becoming indispensable partners which can support a wide range of patent attorneys’ tasks. What matters is how patent attorneys can integrate these new tools sensibly into their established workflows without losing sight of the high legal and technical requirements.

The event is addressed specifically to trainee patent attorneys as well as to experienced colleagues who wish to gain practical insight into the use of AI technologies.

The BDPA’s two-day autumn seminar also comprises high-calibre talks on current case law of the Bundesgerichtshof across all areas of industrial property protection, as well as insights into the work of the Unified Patent Court.
