White paper: confidentiality in collaborations – more than just an NDA

Bernd Bösherz has published a white paper on confidentiality agreements in innovation collaborations. It is available free of charge on the knowledge platform dIPlex.

His central proposition: an NDA at the start of a project is not sufficient. Confidentiality is not a single act but requires continuous management. Over the course of a collaboration, information, contributions and protection strategies change – what is protected as a trade secret at the outset may later require a patent application. Without active steering, risks arise: unintended prior disclosure, unclear ownership, or missed IP rights.
